Lions13G.org as Definitive Lions Information Source

leave a comment »

We have had an interesting time trying to get everyone notified.  It appears that our 100 plus email addresses may have been perceived by Google as a spam attempt as only part of any given emailing was received by our members.

With the above in mind, I want to encourage everyone to begin to use the Lions13G.org as the definitive source of information related to District Events/Updates and changes, such as the postponement of the Leadership School.  As mentioned previously, I have officially discontinued the use of “blast email updates” as the way of keeping everyone informed.  Additionally, we began the use of blogs for the Lions13G Events/Updates that are reflected in our News Scroller and which can be signed up for members to be notified when new postings as made.  Details on blogs/updates.

I am forwarding this email in increments of about 20 to try and make sure everyone gets a copy of it (to avoid Google/other process of blocking email.)

Blogs explained in plain english

leave a comment »

We are experimenting with the addition of blogs on Lions13G.org.  So, you ask, what exactly is a blog?  Lions Clubs International’s blog is a good example of Lions’ use of blogs.

“A blog (a blend of the term web log)[1] is a type of website or part of a website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.” Taken from Wikipedia
